Along the Mission Crossing Scenic By-way, you’ll discover an enchanted river valley, rustic countryside, and a place Charles Kuralt called “a destination.” That place is the Mast General Store in the rural historic district of Valle Crucis. Since 1883, we’ve been outfitting the Appalachians with traditional mercantile goods, comfortable clothing, rugged footwear and quality outdoor gear for all mountain seasons. The Mast Store Annex can outfit you with stylish casual clothing and hiking gear. You’ll also find over 500 old-fashioned favorite candies-by-the-barrel in a building that was once a competing general store. The Dutch Creek Ice Cream stand is open seasonally out back by the creek.
